I find it uncomfortably amusing when Trump declares he can pardon himself for a crime he denies ever having committed. Must be very awkward being a walking paradox. Must be even more awkward to have to justify the actions of a walking paradox. 

The human brain is structured in such a fascinating way, it seems to me.

I think the most baffling thing is the logic: If one pardons one’s self, then they are admitting guilt/have been convicted. If the president is convicted of such crimes, he would not be the president anymore. He would be impeached, since Meuller is there to recommend whether or not Congress should impeach. Which means that to receive a conviction for which he might need pardoning, he’d have to be impeached, which would mean he would no longer be president…

So…he couldn’t pardon himself.

That’s not actually possible.

And if he was innocent then he wouldn’t even need to mention it.

I hear him say “pardon” and all I hear on a loop is Inigo Montoya saying “I do not think that word means what you think it means.”
