What a patently ridiculous thing to assert. They’re simply the most honest about it, because they can be, because they dare to be.

It is also important to point out that there were plenty of “gay” cultures who never discussed “gayness” because it was simply normal and of no importance. Which means that modern culture only records the current “gayness” level, because it still considers “gayness” a thing worth noticing. How do we overcome prejudice? By gaining a perspective that ignores the difference. If you must quantify a person’s “gayness”, then your society is still incredibly unaware.
